Job Title: Learning Mentor
Actual Annual Salary: £27,362 - £29,850 based on hours and weeks worked.
Full Time Equivalent Salary: CLF Grade D (£31,954 - £34,860) based on full time, all year round.
Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only plus inset days
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Start Date 3 September 2026
We are looking for a Learning Mentor to join our team at Broadoak Academy. In this role you will work in partnership with teachers using advanced levels of knowledge and skill to ensure individual student learning needs are met, to discuss and monitor progress, to plan learning activities, to address any concerns and share strategies and good practice, to support with 1-1 mentoring for our students.
About you:
You will:
• Have good literacy and numeracy skills evidenced by a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent.
• Possesses relevant NVQ level 3 in education (such as Learning and Development and Support Services for Children, Young People, and Those who Care for Them, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) or equivalent qualification/ experience.
• Have an understanding of the range of issues that can affect a young people and disadvantaged sections of the community. Have a willingness to keep up to date with developments in this area.
• Be knowledgeable in relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
• Have proven experience working with young people as a Learning Mentor or in a related area such as education, youth work or health and social work
